DAII.013 Digital video editing and compositing ETCS.6
About This Course
This is a core module for both specializations.
The aim of the course is to enable students to complete and improve their own audiovisual products with the help of compositing software, such as Photoshop and After Effects, and editing software, such as Premiere (all part of the Adobe suite). To achieve this, the theories of compositing and editing will be analysed through the works of major players of the industry, such as Walter Murch, Orson Welles and James Cameron, and through the analysis of movies. On the other hand, the practical part of the course will deal with the different compositing processes, such as particles, production layers, blend modes, masks and others, as well as with editing processes, such as fading, connections, sync, movie clip, etc. At the end of the course, the students will create an animated intro in motion graphics, a trailer for a cartoon, and a scene in compositing.
